When I was a kid I wanted to be... ?

 

A jungle doctor; so in a sense I wanted to be a missionary from an early age.

"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." - 2 Timothy 1:6-7

Favourite IMS Memory?

 

Taking four guys (from one of our partnering churches in the U.S.) out to do recordings in six languages in three days in the Mbam region of Cameroon. What an opportunity to share a vision for the work!

NY-style pizza or Fufu and Jamajama from Cameroon.

Let's Connect

Joe Rider is a Vernacular Media Specialist, who has enjoyed working, serving, and living in Cameroon for 19 years before returning to the USA to take on a new role. He is currently serving as the Director of Resources and Innovation for SIL’s department of International Media Services. Before joining SIL, Joe worked in radio and television. Further, he has been involved in several short films, both as an actor and serving on the technical side. Joe studied media & broadcasting at John Brown University, where he received his degree.
