RejoiceM

Rejoice Moses is a media specialist with SIL Nigeria. Her work involves training others, as well as dubbing biblical films, building apps, audio recording, and creating other content in local languages. She holds a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from the University of Jos, Nigeria. She loves experimenting with food, despite being a picky eater and finds peace growing a garden. She loves to travel as it allows her meet people and learn from them.

Andreas

Andreas Ernst is an SIL media and SE consultant. He is passionate about contextualized media such as entertainment-education, which draws on people’s testimonies to make the Scriptures come alive. After growing up and completing high school in Cameroon, he taught primary school in Switzerland. Andreas studied contextualized theology at Redcliffe College in the U.K. and has an MA in literacy program development from Gloucestershire University. He is based in Cameroon and serves as the IMS Training Director.

John Gieske is a Vernacular Media Consultant who lives in Senegal with his wife, Sarah, and their three children. He has a B.A. in global mass communications and a decade of experience on the field, especially in audio recording and production. He often has the privilege of accompanying audiovisual projects from the early planning stages all of the way through to distribution and promotion. John is passionate about training others and especially wants to see local believers producing audiovisual scripture content on their smartphones.

Neil Zubot is an SIL app development specialist.  He has a BA in Applied Linguistics and has been with Wycliffe / SIL since 2006.

 

His motivation for app building comes from a longing to see God’s life-giving Word made known throughout the earth. He started developing apps in 2015 and it is the creative and problem solving elements of building apps that he enjoys the most. 

 

Neil is a Canadian, married to an Austrian and has three children.  After seven years of serving in Africa (CAR and Cameroon), he and his family now live in Austria, where he builds apps for languages in Cameroon and beyond.

After 14 years as a software developer, Andrew Shafe and his family joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2003.

After language learning in France, the family served for 12 years with SIL in Senegal, where Andrew managed the computer department and then took on the role of digital media coordinator.

His roles included app and website development, archiving and digital media strategy. After returning to the US in 2018, Andrew and his wife, Cathy, settled in central Oregon.

Andrew now splits his time equally between being a member care coordinator for Wycliffe USA and working for SIL Francophone Area as an app builder specialist. Along with that role, he serves on the global app builder support, SAB assist and Scripture Earth admin teams.

​

His heart is that God’s Word can be made available in the languages and media that best serve the needs of people worldwide and result in transformed lives, for God’s glory.

Sarah Jane Capper is an ethnoarts and media specialist for SIL in West Africa. Her work involves training others, as well as making apps, websites, audio recordings, and other content in local languages. Her prior experience is in marketing and communications. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and art history from Syracuse University. She is also completing a master’s degree in ethnoarts through Dallas International University.

Catherine Miedes co-facilitates the IMS Video and Audio Production Courses and considers herself a steward of God’s stories. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Far Eastern University in the Philippines and took graduate studies in Applied Linguistics at the Alliance Graduate School Philippines. She began her media career at Far East Broadcasting Company Philippines as a copywriter and radio voice talent, producing radio programs and lending her voice to dramas and promotional spots. She later worked with MMDA Tele-Radyo, providing newsfeeds to various radio and TV stations across the country. Known to many as Cathy, she is passionate about multimedia and Ethnoarts.

 

Cathy is a gospel singer and lyricist with Papuri Music Ministry and an active member of the Philippine Ethnoarts Community of Practice. She currently serves on the Wycliffe Global Alliance Communications team, creating videos and documentaries that highlight Bible translation efforts around the world.

Dr. Margaret Doll serves with SIL’s International Media Services as Research and Resource Consultant.

 

She holds a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry in Leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Her
doctoral thesis includes oral strategies for leadership training in oral societies.

 

She has been teaching on orality for the IMS training program for about 10 years.

Paul Erkert is a Media Resource Developer and Mentor who lives in Waxhaw NC with his wife, Nanci.

He has worked in IMS for 11 years helping the team develop media templates. Paul is passionate about helping  communities have scripture in their local language and in a format they prefer to use.

​​

He has many years’ experience on the field, mostly in central Africa. He especially enjoys training others in audio recording and film dubbing.

Stephen Coats received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis on Radio/TV/Film in 1994 from Biola University.  He has five years of experience in the film/television industry in Southern California, working in a variety of production and story development roles. Currently, he is an International Media Consultant with SIL International. He is also Director of Sabeel Media.  He has over 30 years of international media experience, primarily focused on the Mediterranean Arabic-speaking world.

Lauren Runia has been part of the International Media Services staff since 2008, working with the video production team and more recently with the IMS training team. Lauren and his wife, Connie, are also part of SIL Pacific Area and have been training national media teams in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands for the past eight years. Lauren’s formal training was in music education. After teaching music in the U.S. and at the SIL international school in Papua New Guinea, he took the Vernacular Media Course at JAARS and has continued serving SIL in the Pacific area and with IMS in various media roles.
