The biennial Bible Translation Conference will convene at the Empress Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from Tuesday–Friday, 28–31 October 2025. This year’s theme, “Ethics in Bible Translation,” places questions of integrity at the center of the program—inviting scholars, translators, and practitioners to examine how ethical commitments shape translation decisions, partnerships, and outcomes. As in past editions, the gathering aims to advance the theory and practice of Bible translation while cultivating a professional culture that rejects discrimination and fosters respect across disciplines and communities.
The theme will be explored through plenary lectures, curated sessions, and training opportunities that interrogate ethics across people and communities; finances, leadership, and communication; technology and processes (including machine-assisted translation and AI); and interpretation and exegesis. Abstracts and scheduling are aligned with six tracks—Technology and Resources; Training and Mentoring; Theology, Hermeneutics, and Exegesis; Methodologies, Media, and Multimodality; Church and Community; and Communication and Context—ensuring a program that is both methodologically rigorous and practically focused. Full details, including featured lecture series, registration, lodging, and exhibitor information, are available on the conference site.
For those who want to participate virtually, there is time to register. Virtual participants enjoy a discounted registration fee!
